The Howlin' Brothers

"Of course, the quickest comparison one will make to the Howlin’ Brothers is Old Crow Medicine Show. They are the only other contemporary act to really ‘make it’ while putting out music in tribute to this dusty period of Americana. While that is a pretty easy bridge to build, the most interesting aspects of HOWL come from the ways in which this group deviates from the calculation. This is Old Crow Medicine Show for people that like a little more sweat on the microphone; the Delta Holler Funk, if you will." - HOWL

Diarrhea Planet with Sleepwalkers

MACROCK alumni and all around fun dudes, Diarrhea Planet have been rocking through Harrisonburg many times. They have described their sound as "pop played through the filter of heavy metal" and have drawn wide acclaim for their rowdy live shows.

It was the winter of 2013, when a casual lunch at Burger King manifested the hearts of four lost souls and transformed the gang into an unstoppable courier of smash hits. SLEEPWALKERS, a group of outlaws who rose from the blue collar depths of a glorified suburban landscape, seek to recreate the golden age of songwriting.

Lucy Dacus & Dead Professional

Lucy Dacus
Lucy Dacus has been making solo croons for some time, but has recently leveled up due to the help of her friends and backing band, transforming her sound from melancholy introspection to the smoldering indie rock plus southern grit stuff it is today. Same old hard-hitting lyrics, mostly just louder. It's like when grandma gets dentures, ya know? For fans of (we are fans of) Courtney Barnett, Angle Olsen, and Shakey Graves.

Dead Professional
This is back-to-basics rock that effortlessly blends the cool wit of classic British power pop à la Nick Lowe and Elvis Costello with the warmth and heart of 1970's American songwriters like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.

The Grascals

The Grascals
Their cutting-edge modern bluegrass is delivered with a deep knowledge of, and admiration for, the work of the music’s founding fathers. Timely yet timeless, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now, yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It’s a unique sound that has earned three Grammy® nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, as well as national media attention that seems to perpetually elude acts entrenched in niche genres. Such appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Fox & Friends, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and CBS’ The Talk. All the while, stages that represent the strongest bastions of tradition continually welcome them, as evidenced by the over 150 performances on the Grand Ole Opry. Honors also include performing twice for President George W. Bush and at President Barack Obama’s inaugural ball at the Smithsonian.
