The Black Lillies with Many Nights Ahead

The Black Lillies
Born in the rumbling cab of a stone truck and aged in the oak of Tennessee’s smoky night haunts, The Black Lillies have quickly risen to the forefront of the Americana scene. Founded by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Cruz Contreras (co-founder of Robinella and the CCstringband), The Black Lillies have created their own unique brand of country, roots, rock and blues via Appalachia. The group, formed in 2008, also includes electric guitar and pedal steel whiz Tom Pryor and drummer Jamie Cook, both formerly of the everybodyfields, bassist Robert Richards, and vocalist Trisha Gene Brady.

Many Nights Ahead
Many Nights Ahead does what they want with bluegrass instruments. You will hear a bit of every genre that has influenced the members individually and has ultimately come together to form the unique sound of Many Nights Ahead. With underling tones of blues, bluegrass, funk, and americana, the audience is in for quite a ride.

Chris Knight

Chris Knight doesn’t like to say much. Won’t chat about his worldview or engage in conversations on his creative approach. For 15 years, 7 acclaimed albums and a hard-nosed career that’s been hailed as “where Cormac McCarthy meets Copperhead Road”, Knight has always let his music do most of the talking. And on record – as well everywhere across America, from roadhouse taverns to major-city concert halls – his songs have had plenty to say. But with his new album Little Victories, Chris Knight has taken the discussion to a whole new level.

The Delta Saints

On The Delta Saints’ new album, Bones, their first for Loud & Proud Records, the Nashville-based band have stripped their roots/blues sound down to its essence, having rearranged the elements into something uniquely their own. Steeped in rock ‘n’ roll’s building blocks – country, R&B, soul and gospel – The Delta Saints’ second full-length effort explores influences like Jack White, The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses and Led Zeppelin. Producer/engineer/mixer and Third Man Records alum, Eddie Spear [Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Neil Young] provided a ghostly, psychedelic atmosphere at Nashville’s Sputnik Sound studios, yielding a sound unlike anything they have created before.

The Mantras, a five piece jam machine born of Greensboro, NC have been conquering crowds and melting minds all over the country progressively for over a decade. The band’s music can be described with all types of varying rock and roll terminology, but is absolutely best defined by each listener’s ear and, equally
important, their experience.

Cocaine Mortgage: Homecoming Dance Party

In 2009 & 2010, with the flick of a wrist and the pump of a fist, oddball DJ duo Cocaine Mortgage took the Harrisonburg, VA scene by storm. From raging house parties to sold out club shows, CoMo became an attraction for all types of music-lovers and dance party enthusiasts in the region. Their live instrumentation and eclectic melding of indie rock, new wave, house, hip hop, bizarre odds-and-ends, and off-the-wall samples kept crowds wanting more.
