Songs unfurl in textured, poetic waves that are based far more in inspiration than imitation.” WXPN of Philadelphia noted The Last Bison “has subsequently swept the musical scene with its complex arrangements, refined lyrics and vocal harmonies.” John Paul Douglas John Paul Douglas has been writing and performing original music in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and beyond, for over two decades. He is recognized for his powerful vocals, lyrical storytelling, and energetic presence on a variety of stages, either acoustically or as the front man for his five-piece band John Paul Douglas & The Bitter Trades. With a reputation for bringing a passion for Roots Americana and Blues music to local shows, music halls, and historic theaters alike, John has been privileged to open shows for nationally touring performers like Emmy Award-Winning singer-songwriter Erick Baker, and Grammy Award-Nominated performers like Sierra Hull and Yonder Mountain String Band.
